Best friends and high school sweethearts. :)
I want a library full of our stories
A ship to keep our memories afloat
I wanna hit rewind, play back a hundred times
The moments when our hearts aligned

A lovely song by the current First Lady of France.
Beauty truly knows no language.
4/25: Be carefree; live like you’re five.
Today was quite a lovely day, definitely one of the more productive days I’ve had lately. Got all of my stuff done during the day, caught up with some of my makeup work. Took the math test, which I’m pretty sure I bombed, but I made a 94 on the Bio practicum! Also, I miraculously escaped having to makeup notes for HOA, even though I missed 3 days. Having a nice, friendly relationship with your teachers do help at times.
Then, after school, I hung out with one of my friends, The Riddler (not to be confused with Ben Riddle, this is simply an epithet I chose for him for anonymity purposes). We went downtown, and he introduced me to the Rock Quarry Garden, of which I never heard before. Apparently many couples get their wedding pictures taken here, and I can definitely see why. The place is picturesque, serene, and quite secluded. It was near Cleveland Park and the Reedy River even runs through it. I took my sandals off and played in the waters. Then, we just lied on the grass, occasionally rolling around, and had a nice, chill conversation.
67 degree, breezy, sunny afternoon surrounded by nature… I could not have asked for a better way to end my day.
4/24: Woo, got another person to love Warby Parker Eyewear!
School, home, and life in general has been extremely bland lately… I’m experiencing recurring, random bouts of depression daily for some strange reason. Fuck my limbic system and unfinished frontal lobe development.
On a more positive note: I’M GETTING MY BRACES OFF ON MAY 7!!!!! :D
4/21: Possibly the best 24 hours of my life.
Everything about today was perfect. Experienced serendipity: was going to get a French manicure for $20, then ended up spending $37 for a manicure, pedicure, and my eyebrows waxed, which was such a good deal. The lady was going to charge me an additional $25 for a pedicure which was absolutely ridiculous, but $37 is not shabby at all.
Got my hair and makeup done by one of my friends that I know from high school and she was such a doll. I really enjoyed talking with her, catching up, and just getting to know her. I didn’t get to see her much when she was still in school. Then, I drove to the Luuser’s house to get ready and head out to James’s for pictures. The photographer, Krystyne, was so lovely. I’m so glad that I ended up choosing her. There were so many parents there who were also taking pictures but she was really patient and she catered to all of the people who wanted to take pictures. I saw a couple of the pictures she’d taken on her camera and they looked absolutely gorgeous and surreal. She was really laid-back but professional at the same time—the best of both worlds!
Then, while the rest of the group head to Rick Erwin’s, my date and I did our own thing. We had planned on making reservations to the Lazy Goat, but they were full, so we decided to just wing it. At first, it was a pain—quite literally. I had to walk halfway through downtown barefoot because my feet were killing me. We had to park in the parking garage near Coffee St and the bridge was really far away, so the walk was pretty excruciating. Trio’s was full, Soby’s was also full with a 45 minute-1 hour wait, Nantucket Seafood and Grill was also full, so then we decided to check High Cotton because, well, YOLO! But, just like all the others, it was full. We really didn’t have high hopes anyway, especially since the food will probably be super expensive, so then we went outside and I asked him to wait a bit while I put my shoes back on.
And lo and behold… The hostess came outside and told us that they can get a table ready for us in a few minutes if we’re still interested. We were flabbergasted. The Luuser immediately said yes, to which I panicked, because I didn’t want him to spend so much money on dinner. Then, he told me that this kind of thing doesn’t happen often—dinner at High Cotton on prom night and without a reservation, at that—and we should make the most of it. I offered to pay half of the bill, but he said that he will pay for all of it. Dinner ended up being about $100. When he got the check, I swear his eyes just bulged out of his sockets. But he and I agreed that it was most definitely the best dinner we’ve ever had. Not just because of the extremely yummy food, but also because we spent time together. It was our first romantic and fancy dinner date. :)
Afterwards, we head to the Hyatt to the prom, which was surprisingly really, really, really fun! I had so much fun dancing with everyone. I got to dance with two black dudes. (!!!) Bahahah, it was a lot of fun. Spending time with the girls and slow dancing with the Luuser… It was absolutely wonderful in every way. Although I did not appreciate getting elbowed in the face from someone who was fist-pumping. Stupid DJ who ruin slow dance moments with fist-pumping music. Oh well, it was worth it!
After all of that, the Luuser and I hung out and then went to IHOP in our PJ’s (and his dress shoes, haha!) and then the next day we spent more time together. Overall, it was the absolute perfect two days of my life.
I had the time of my life
And I never felt this way before
And I swear this is true
And I owe it all to you
4/14: Serenity @ The Horseshoe, University of South Carolina.
Admitted Students Day! The presentation by the business school was really legit. Their international business program is indubitably top-notch. Love their emphasis on global education and studying abroad.
USC Class of 2016, here I come! :)
This is not good.
You guys, follow my other blog. DO IT DO IT DO IT DO IT.
4/10: I apologize for the boring webcam photos for the past two days, I’ve been preoccupied with lots of random stuff.
Today was a really productive day at school, though as a whole it was pretty uneventful. On the way home, I realized how little I remember about today, and how many people I didn’t get to say hello to after break. In fact, I felt like Spring Break never happened in the first place. It was a really odd feeling.
Highlights: good hair day, comfy hoodie, lol-worthy TOK class (as per norm), productive Bio class (for once), getting the Civitan Award and nominated for some county-wide student award (!!!!), chicken nuggets at McD’s, and virtually no homework.
Today, I finally found out why I’ve been so depressed all week. Fuck you Thank you, Mother Nature.
